She's Here! / Beauties Pageant 136

For a long time, the running joke at my house was that my tombstone would read: Michelle Cain / 1974-20XX / She did dishes. (For real. Just ask my husband.) I’m pretty sure something like this would be more appropriate now: Michelle Cain / 1974-2021 / Death by puppy!

Friends, Gracie has arrived, and she’s kicking my butt! I mean, she’s the softest and cutest thing you’ve ever seen. She weighed in at 10 pounds yesterday, and most of it is floof. And she’s super sweet and cuddly—way more relaxed than her older sister ever was. But the middle-of-the-night potty runs and the constant shenanigans ... I am sleep deprived and barely functioning.

My ability to string words together will cease any second now, so let me give you the high-level synopsis: Everyone is doing well. Rose was stressed at first but rallied a lot faster than we thought she would. The girls play often and well together—if you consider rolling around on the floor and biting each other and tackling each other playing well together.

All this puppiness is temporary. We’re trying to enjoy it while it lasts. : )

  3. I FEEL you! I've had several puppies but our last one, who miraculously is an angel now at 4, was the hardest. I considered taking him back when I was so sleep deprived and scratched and bitten. He was just a lot of personality and demands. He didn't sleep through the night til we relented at about 3 months and let him sleep with us, so I was a zombie. He was a biting snarling peeing in the house mess for months where as my previous standard poodle was pottie trained within days. Now he is my love, my constant companion, so funny and smart and such a good family member. But that puppy.... let's just say it's a good thing they are so cute. And when they sleep on your lap, well it's easy to forgive. People used to ask my husband if he was going to be a standard poodle... instead of saying, he IS a stand. poo. he replied, "well we think he may be part pterydactle"
I will say one of the smartest things we taught each dog was "drop" meaning spit out anything in their mouths immediately. Oh and with this guy I had to put him in his crate when he got particularly wound up and out of control, because he was tired and didn't know it. He'd angrily bark for about 1 minute then crash asleep for an hour and come out a different dog!LeeAnna at not afraid of color

  6. Oh she is adorable. Who wouldn't want to cuddle with her. Having had puppies and gone through that stage, I don't envy you. Yet!!! It will be worth it.

  9. Hi Michelle! That sweet poof ball of fabulousness is adorbs! Just like when you brought your sweet babies home from the hospital, you know those sleepless nights will fade away into the wonderful past. It's not even a speedbump in life. I'd love to watch Rose assure Gracie that she is TOP dog while she tolerates those sharp baby teeth for a few bites. {{Hugs}} You shall sleep soon, grasshopper! ~smile~ Roseanne
