Hello and welcome to the 100th post here on From Bolt to Beauty. I want to thank you for reading my musings on all things sewing and quilting. You’ve enriched my hobby by the encouragement, insights, and friendship you’ve offered me in this space. If I had known blogging would be so much fun, I would have started doing it years ago.
My friends and family would also like to thank you. Because you and I can talk about scant quarter-inch seams and single-fold bindings, my husband doesn’t have to hear about them. Because you sympathize when I scorch a project or miscut some fabric, my friends don’t have to feign interest. Because you care to read my posts, my family members don’t have to pretend that they do. (Mom, you are exempt from this judgment. I know that you really do read my posts!)
I think giveaways are crazy fun, so to celebrate the milestone of my 100th post, I’m giving away this fat-quarter bundle of Carolyn Friedlander’s cross-hatch fabrics (17 FQs in all).
Heads up: I noticed a bunch of no-reply bloggers leaving comments. If you’re a no-reply blogger, please leave your email address so I can notify you if you win. Thanks!
And because no blog post is complete without some pretty project pictures, here is a tote I made as an extra for the Lizzy House mini-quilt swap but forgot to post. I used Alicia Paulson’s Jane Market Bag pattern (for the, like, 30th time) ...
Mmmm ... pretty bag with hedge hogs. |
Thanks again for reading. Good luck!
Linking up to Let’s Bee Social, Needle and Thread Thursday, TGIFF, and Finish It Up Friday ...
I follow you thru your blog. I enjoy reading your blog thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteHello Michelle, I follow you on both instagram and bloglovin, I don't write a blog myself but really enjoy following and reading , it has inspired me to get back to my quilting, just had my first granddaughter and I am working on a beautiful project for her. Thank you for your posts.
ReplyDeleteI've added you to my Bloglovin' list. Those fabrics really are nice. What a great gift you are sharing. I've been blogging for 8+ years. (How did that much time pass so fast?) I have found some wonderful friends through blogging. I know if I had a chance to meet them in person we would be great quilting buddies.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on bloglovin'. Your hope valley and big zig quilts are my favorites. Congrats on this milestone!
ReplyDeleteI follow thru Bloglovin. I don't have a blog but enjoy reading them and getting ideas from them. Rina
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle, I follow you on Bloglovin. Congrats on the 100th post milestone! I actually just finished my hundredth post yesterday. I started to blog a year ago as a way to talk about and sharing my quilting and sewing as I missed the bi-weekly talks with my Mom who has passed away. I think she would think it was a real hoot that you can share your projects worldwide by blogging. She loved to go to area meetings and share her latest and greatest machine embroidered projects.Thank you for sharing your lovely quilts and the most generous fabric giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI follow you using Blogger. Love those hedgehogs!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 100! I follow you on instagram as @honey81619. Your pics are amazing.

Hi been a long time reader, but have just added you to my 'follow list' on google. I read blogs to make sure I know how much better everyone's lives/skills are than mine .... and they are a great distraction from work!
ReplyDeleteHello! I follow you on Instagram! I love reading blog posts (although I'm kind of random about it) to find inspiration, and yes- hear from those that speak the same language. ;) My husband humors me, but his eyes glaze over after awhile. Congrats!

Look at you all fabulous and stuff! I love blogging for all of the same reasons. Since I have very few IRL friends who are as obsessed with fabric the way I am, it helps to have online friends who relate! The very first time I met one in person, I kept feeling like I needed to apologize for gushing on and on about how much I loved a certain fabric line until I remembered who I was talking to and the fact that they were just as obsessed! It was glorious. So bravo for anniversaries, and bravo for blogging being a healthy pursuit.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on IG AND through blogger's reader because you deserve double following love. :)
Love the bag! I follow you on Bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Bloglovin and my Blogger dashboard. I'll catch you whenever you post, somehow! I just found quilting blogs in the last year to year and a half. It's been very inspiring, quilting-wise and otherwise. Everyone has a compelling story, a reason why they're on this crazy ride, and triumphs, mistakes, and loss along the way. The blogverse is my day-to-day pick-me-up and quick fix (especially on work days!) on everything quilty. On the flipside, I started a blog last fall, and I've gained insight on what an effort it can be sometimes to not only post but also have pictures - and in focus, well-compositioned ones too boot - and engage the audience (especially when there's NOT a giveaway ;) ). Kudos to you for 100 posts and best wishes for the next 100!
ReplyDelete100 posts, well done and congratulations! I follow through Bloglovin and IG.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 posts! I follow on Intagram.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 100th post! I'm a Bloglovin follower and when it comes to sewing and quilting, blogs are the reason why I have a Pinterest board full to bursting of the quilts I want to make and they're often a good nudge when I need some motivation to press on with my current wip!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I follow you on Instagram - love the pics!

ReplyDeleteI have followed on Bloglovin for a while now, I'm not sure how I originally found you, maybe through a SMS Giveaway Day perhaps? Anyway I like blogging and have done so for about 8 years now I think, it works as a craft diary thing for me, keeps me focused on goals and it's good for looking back at how rubbish I was when I started which is very encouraging :D
ReplyDeleteI follow you through Feedly and Instagram and have been known to follow you around on retreat (if only to pin the clothespin on you!). Congrats on 100!!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog through Bloglovin and I follow you on Instagram. Congrats on 100 posts and thanks for being a part of a great community of crafters, makers, sewers, and doers!
ReplyDeleteI follow you through Feedly.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 100 blog posts! I love being part of the online community of quilters - I'm constantly inspired, and challenged to approach my own work with new eyes. Thank you for being part of that!
Michelle, I'm with you on Bloglovin. Just the sight of fabric collections inspires me to pull those one or two special patterns from my archives and make a garment, a bag or table topper.
ReplyDeleteLately I'm not making quilts, just feeling like I want to finish what I start so I do small projects like bags and runners. You know what I mean:) Thank you for sharing and congrats on #100.

ReplyDeleteI follow your blog by bookmarking it and checking in every couple of days. Congratulations on 100 posts.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 100th post! I follow you through my favorite linky parties. I know that's not an efficient way to follow someone. I just haven't taken the time to change the habit. I love blogs just because I appreciate all quilts and the stories/personalities behind them. For myself, blogging helps me document my quilting journey and probably also keeps me working at a project so I have something to share each week.
ReplyDeleteI now follow you through Bloglovin'! Awesome giveaway - thank you so much. I started blogging mainly to keep a "journal" of my quilting, but when I started meeting people, it changed everything! The blogs I follow inspire me to try new things and keep learning.

ReplyDeleteI follow on Bloglovin! Congrats on a great blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle! I follow you via Bloglovin, and I love the bags you make! I'm a teacher so I maintain a blog for my writing students, but I don't have a personal blog. I'm too shy to put myself and my quilts out there. So I deeply appreciate bloggers like you who share their work and techniques. A lot of my inspiration for and knowledge about quilting and bag making comes from reading blogs. So thanks for everything!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, where does the stalking begin??? Guild meetings ... check, "official" retreat roomie ... check, blog ... check, fabric shopping outings ... check, Marden's madness buddy ... check, Instagram ... check, meet and great with Rose ... check pending.

ReplyDeleteDoes Following on Flickr count? I tried to follow you on blogger, but it won't let me add your blog to my list--I guess I'm following too many blogs. That's confusing though because when I add blogs from the blog it doesn't give me any grief. Anyway, I want to I just can't figure it out. Your bag is darling!
